Advantages of Using EFax for Your Business

This program offers users the following advantages:

Convenience

  • Send or receive faxes from anywhere you can access your e-mail account.
  • Fax messages appear as attachments to an e-mail message; they can be saved in the same manner as any other attachment you receive.
  • Users also have the option of viewing their faxes online for up to one year after receipt.
  • Messages sent or received by EFax can be forwarded on to other users quickly and easily.
  • EFax allows users to choose either a local or international fax number (whichever will best suit their needs).
  • The software converts documents from multiple formats to faxes automatically.
  • You don't have to invest in a stand-alone facsimile machine, buy paper for it, or have to pay for repairs to the unit.
  • No separate phone line is needed to send or receive faxes.
  • Users receive confirmation by e-mail that their fax was successfully sent. If the facsimile transmission didn't go through, then they are notified of this fact as well.
  • Customer support is available at no extra charge.

Confidentiality

  • Instead of having faxes received by a fax machine located in a common area, you will receive facsimile transmissions directly to the In Box of your e-mail account.
  • This is a distinct advantage when dealing with sensitive or confidential correspondence and documents.
  • Using a system like EFax means that customer or client information is not seen by anyone other than yourself and whoever you need to share it with.

Cost to Use Service

EFax customers are charged a flat rate per month to use the service. This charge includes up to 130 pages of incoming facsimile transmissions. Outgoing faxes are billed at a per-page rate that varies depending on the country where the transmission is being received.

How the Service Works

Sending a fax through the EFax service is relatively simple. Once you download the software, follow these instructions:

  • From the Edit menu, click on "Compose Fax."
  • You will see an online form asking you for the fax number, recipient's name, and company name.
  • You will be prompted to choose a cover page for your fax.
  • Click on the "Choose" button to select the style of cover page you want to use and fill in the subject of the fax message. You also have the option of including a personal note to the recipient, if you like.
  • The "Documents to Fax" section of the form is where you click on the "Add" button to attach the pages you want to send.
  • You also have the option of choosing your fax quality. Choose "Fine" when the print quality of your faxed document is important. For times when you are more concerned with transmission speed than print quality, use the "Standard" transmission option.
  • Click on "Send."

You will receive a notification that your fax message has been uploaded to the EFax server. Once the fax has been delivered, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from EFax. It will list the fax number you sent your message to, the date and time the message was sent, and the time the transmission took.

Receiving faxes is very simple as well. When a fax comes in, you will receive a message in your In Box to let you know. To see your message, download it using EFax software.

If you are looking for a simple and inexpensive way to send and receive faxes, do consider the EFax service to see if it makes sense for your business.
