Hi Lina,

You need to contact the consumer reporting company, in writing, and let them know what information is inaccurate and back it up with copies of do...ents that support your position. It's a good idea to also include a copy of your credit report with the items in question highlighted. Send this letter by certified mail and pay the little extra for return receipt requested. This way you'll know when the letter is received. Keep copies of everything. Secondly, you should contact the creditor to let them know you dispute an item following the same steps as you do in contacting the consumer reporting company.
