Hi Zurc,
I can't really give you an objective to use because you'll want to tailor the objective to the job you are applying for. However, if you follow other samples it should help you put together an objective that fits your desires and meets the criteria of the job you want.
Here's one sample: Technical position also offering customer relations and trouble-shooting duties in a growth field such as plastics or specialty chemicals.

When you write your objective you want it to focus on what you bring to the employer, not what the employer can offer you. So instead of saying you want to enhance your knowledge, you'll want to focus on the knowledge and skills you bring to the job. If you have a specific position in mind the job posting can help you design your objective to fit the opening on paper.

-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladNeed different examples of resume Objectives.
-- Contributed by: CharnaThat's the whole idea, Hatem. Your objective should match your skills with the needs of the employer. This way it highlights what you can do for them, not what they can do for you.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladYeah particularity I like the statement about the skills doing something for you. This got me my job doing what I love to really do.
-- Contributed by: Daniel KingHi Venkat,
Unless your extra curricular interests directly relate to the position for which your are applying, don't put them your resume. The purpose of your entire resume should be to match your qualifications with what the company is looking for. If you aren't sure what the company is looking for, do some research so your objective statement has a competitive edge.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Lodi,
When writing your objective your goal should be to show a match between the type of work you seek and the position being offered; ideally the resume and objective are tailored to a specific position and employer. In your case I'd suggest an objective statement that reflects your skills and the fact that your are seeking an supervisory position.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladDear Sir/Madam,
I am doing B.E. computer science and Engineering. I want to what I should put in extra curricular activities. And also please send me some sample of simple objectives which are suited to my curriculum.
-- Contributed by: VenkatEnvironmental Services supervisor
-- Contributed by: LodiHi Tonya,
Remember, you want the objective to be about what you bring to the company, not so much what the company can do for you.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Manoj,
Your objective will be used to target a specific job. With that in mind, let the company know what skills you have that make you the right person for the job. For example if the job you were applying for stated: "Knowledge of and exposure to International Accounting Standards (desirable). Proficiency in computerized environment, ability to handle audits of small and medium enterprises independently from planning to finalisation and knowledge of various accounting and ERP packages (desirable)," you could include something in your objective about seeking a position where you can use your practical experience with International Accounting Standards and procedures. In other words, highlight the skills that meet the employer's needs.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHow about "To be a tool for you to make money." It's shorter.
-- Contributed by: TonyaI am a chartered accountant (Cleared in May 2007) and working in a MNC as Assistant Manager - Accounts. Provide me some tips or sample objectives which can make my resume attractive
-- Contributed by: Manoj JangidHi Ramanujam
You'll want to keep your objective short and realistic. It needs to show your interest and be clear in establishing the position you seek. You have a couple of ways to approach this:
- List skills and how you wish to use them
- Specifically use a professional title like: "Software Development Intern" at ABC Company
The trick is to write a targeted and balanced objective. If you are submitting your resume for a specific position, include the job title and the name of the company. For example: "Seeking a position as a Software Development Intern at ABC Company."
If you plan to submit your resume to a variety of companies, you should write a variety of objectives so you can tailor your resume for each position so you can emphasize the appropriate skills and experience depending on the position of interest.

-- Contributed by: RamanujamHi Rogz,
If you have a specific position in mind, target it in your objective. What is the company looking for? A position as a Senior Java Software Engineer? An entry level Electrical Engineer? Or if you are hoping to get a foot in the door with a general resume highlighting your skills, you can target positions that will utilize your skills like Database Development or Administration. Remember, the objective lets the company know what you can do for them.

You objective should reflect the skills you bring to a particular position within the educational system. If you want to work as a teacher's assistant your objective would read differently than that of someone hoping to work in the office.

A resume objective is not always required, and trying to craft an objective to cover multiple positions may hinder your chances at getting a job. My suggestion is to eliminate the objective portion of your resume unless you are apply for a specific job.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladI am having alot of trouble writing down a strong yet simple objective. I am applying at several places and dont have a specific position. I have experience in real estate and sales. I am going for retail stores etc such as best buy macys dillard etc (clothing stores). any suggestions?
-- Contributed by: JoanaHi Amy,
You might want to be more specific. Is it an entry level position? If so you would include that detail. For example:
Seeking an entry level position as a medical secretary...
And you'll also want to be specific about your abilities. What skills will you bring to the table?
- Computer skills
- typing skills
- organizational skills
- provide administrative support for doctors
Things like this will highlight your strengths as they pertain to the job.
Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi Ramel,
When writing your resume objective, remember that it should focus on the employer and their needs--not yours. Because the objective is situated at the top of your resume, its purpose is to make a quick, concise pitch that allows the employer to identify you as a key candidate. A resume objective is a great tool to use when you don't have much work experience. As you write your objective, avoid the use of personal pronouns because they point to you and not the employer, and ask yourself what the employer's needs are for the position. Once you identify the needs, look at your own strengths and how they can meet these needs. Write your objective by matching the company's needs with your abilities to sell yourself as a potential candidate.

Remember, you'll want to tailor your objective statement to the particular company or organization to which you are applying. Target the position you are hoping to get by focusing your objective on what you can bring to that position. Use the same terminology as the company to describe the position. Then try to match your qualifications with those desired by the organization.

Hi Sahana,
The objective needs to be tailored to the job your are applying for. Only refer to experience as it applies to that position and what it brings to the business. The of your experience will be highlighted in your resume.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHi,
I am looking for a generic objective that i can use for my resume. I have 7 + years of work experience in the fields of CRM, sales, finance, retail, and training. I am a little confused as to how should my objective be taking into consideration all of my experience.
-- Contributed by: SahanaHi Mastanbi,
When writing a career objective it's important to be precise and to identify factors you can work with. Use a combination of these key elements:
- The position you are seeking
- The field
- Your marketable skills
With that in mind, check these basics for writing an effective career objectives:
- Keep it concise
- Use verb phrases rather than sentences
- Word the objective to be compatible with your resume
- Make your value as a candidate obviousâshow how you will be an asset and do not focus on what you hope to get.
How to write career objectives.
-- Contributed by: mastanbiHi John,
You have the basics here. I'd suggest tweaking it just a bit to something like:
To obtain a position where I can effectively utilize my 10 years of experience working individually and in a team setting interacting with suppliers and customers to increase efficiency and productivity.
I would leave off "Becoming an integral part of an organization that contributes to the professional and personal improvement, development, and advancement of its employees" because you want the objective to focus on what you bring to the company, not what you expect from them.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladMy job search is not specific to an industry or position. I am looking for something different and do not want to limit myself. Here is the objective I have written.
Desiring position where over 10 years skills working individually and in team setting and experience interacting with suppliers and customers can be effectively utilized for increased efficiency and productivity. Becoming an integral part of an organization that contributes to the professional and personal improvement, development, and advancement of its employees.
Please provide feedback.
Thank you.

Glad to hear you found this information helpful. We always appreciate hearing from our readers here at LoveToKnow Business.

-- Contributed by: DANESH THi Miranda,
If you go with "work experience" is that what you want out of the job? The person reading your resume will want to know what you bring to the position. Sometimes people don't feel like they don't have relevant work background, but it doesn't always have to be related to work. Look at your interests and ways you've volunteered your time as they pertain to the job you're applying to.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladHow about if i put "work experience" simple short and to the point for my objective:)
-- Contributed by: MirandaHi ros,
Instead of mentioning what you want to gain from the position, focus on what you have to offer. You want to emphasize your main qualifications as they pertain to the position you seek. Present the information in such a way that it appears as career goals. In this way it gives the impression that the company is "getting" the right person, instead of focusing on you "getting" experience.
I'm a new graduate without any work experience who's currently applying for a job. How can I put into my objective that I want to gain on-the-job work experience without sounding like I'm just going to use the employment to obtain experience and hop to another job?
-- Contributed by: rosHi Lynette,
That's your objective, but you'll want to identify specific skills in a way that the employer will see them as a benefit to the company.
-- Contributed by: Donna SundbladTo obtain a position that will utilize my experience and further my career. is this a good objective?
-- Contributed by: LynetteHi Rajinder,
The short objective section heading can be: "objective," "professional objective," "resume capsule," or "career goals." The objective statement can include 1-3 lines of text that summarizes the job be applied for along with your main qualifications. If you don't want to use the sentence format, an objective statement can also be written using descriptive phrases with minimal punctuation.

A resume objective is not always necessary. It is most often used when not applying for a specific position, or when disseminating your resume at a career fair or some such event.
